A time-series animation of urban growth in Copenhagen metropolitan area

The growth of cities represents huge problems for modern societies. The explanation of the phenomena involves the description of changes. The Danish Building & Dwelling database is a quasi spatio-temporal database containing spatial dimensions as well as a temporal one. Based on this database, a time-series animation of the urban growth in the Copenhagen Metropolitan area is produced. Furthermore, the Internet provides new possibilities for dynamic visualisation using animated GIF files or AVI films.
